How far are PGs from DAVV Takshashila campus?
Very close, by Indian campus standards. Hostel360 lists 92 PGs and hostels within 1 km of the Takshashila campus pin, 211 within 3 km and 641 within 8 km, checked October 2026. The median Google rating stays at 4.3 to 4.4 in every band, so moving further out buys more choice, not better reviews.
DAVV gives its academic campus address as Takshashila Campus, Khandwa Road, Indore 452017; the administrative offices are at the Nalanda Campus on R.N.T. Marg. Distances are straight-line to the pin; road distance is longer.

Which lanes near DAVV have the most PGs?
Bhanwarkuan dominates. All 12 of our nearest listings sit within 0.58 km of the campus pin, in Indrapuri Colony, Ahilya Puri, Professor Colony, Siddharth Nagar, Brahmapuri Colony and Scheme 44-B near Bhanwarkuan Square. Nine of those 12 are girls-only. Most listings within 3 km share one pincode, 452001.

How many kilometres will the daily trip to Takshashila add up to?
Multiply your one-way distance by 2 trips and 22 class days. A PG 1 km from the pin means 44 km of walking a month; one 5 km away means 220 km. We could not retrieve an official city bus fare table from AICTSL in October 2026, so this section uses distance only, with no rupee figures.

For IET students living on the Bhanwarkuan side, the 1.3 km offset adds up quickly: 1.3 x 2 x 22 = 57.2 km a month on top of the distance to the pin. DAVV or IET hostel, or a PG near DAVV Indore?
The campus hostel is cheaper on paper. DAVV's 2026-27 room rent is Rs 24,750 for the session, about Rs 2,063 a month, and IET's 2025-26 room rent is Rs 22,500 a year, Rs 1,875 a month, with mess billed separately. The catch is seats: IET's 700 hostel beds compare with 780 B.Tech admissions a year.
DAVV university hostels (teaching departments)
The Chief Warden's fee structure for session 2026-27 lists room rent of Rs 24,750 and caution money of Rs 3,000, a total of Rs 27,750 up front. Spread over 12 months, 24,750 ÷ 12 = Rs 2,062.50 a month. Mess is paid monthly to the vendor at a rate to be notified, and fines come out of the caution money. For UG students, a Chief Warden notice dated 3 July 2026 opened hostel admission from 13 July 2026.
The DAVV hostel list puts all five girls' hostels opposite Holkar Science College on A.B. Road, with 198 + 110 + 170 + 102 + 103 = 683 beds. The open boys' hostels are on Takshashila campus near the University Auditorium and near IT Park Square on Khandwa Road, with 104 + 94 + 262 = 460 beds. IET DAVV hostels
IET's 2025-26 hostel details list four boys' hostels with 140 + 140 + 120 + 100 = 500 beds and one girls' hostel with 200 beds. Room rent is Rs 22,500 a year with a Rs 3,000 refundable deposit, and mess costs about Rs 2,500 to 3,000 a month. Monthly: 22,500 ÷ 12 = Rs 1,875 for the room, plus mess gives Rs 4,375 to Rs 4,875.
The seat math: IET's admissions sheet lists four B.Tech branches with 120 seats and five with 60, so 4 x 120 + 5 x 60 = 780 new B.Tech students a year, against 700 hostel beds for every year and gender combined. Many students will need a PG near IET DAVV for part of the course.

What should you check before paying for a PG near IET DAVV?
On a weekday visit, check the walk to your own department, the agreement and notice period, the deposit, police verification, and gate and mess timings. Most PGs near DAVV list Wi-Fi and security, but only 12 of 211 within 3 km list food, so meals are the most common gap.
- Time the walk to your building, not the main gate. Departments along Khandwa Road are spread out, and IET sits about 1.3 km from the pin we used. Walk it at the hour your first lecture starts.
- Match the agreement to the semester. Ask for a notice period that lets you leave if a hostel seat opens mid-year. See what to check in a PG rental agreement.
- Compare the deposit with the hostel's. DAVV and IET both ask Rs 3,000 as caution money or deposit. If a PG asks for more, get refund terms in writing.
- Ask about police verification. A careful owner collects your ID for tenant verification; see our police verification guide for PG residents.
- Ask the exact gate-closing time. Confirm the night entry time works with late labs and exam-season library hours.
- Check meals against class timings. If breakfast is served after your first lecture, you will be eating poha at the square every morning.
- Plan for May and the monsoon. Only 23 of the 211 listings within 3 km mention AC. Ask if a cooler is allowed and check the ceiling for leak marks.
