The Blue Line then takes you to Indraprastha for Rs 21 and Rajiv Chowk for Rs 32. How many PGs are within walking distance of Laxmi Nagar metro?
Most of them. On Hostel360 as of October 2026, 80 of the 132 listings within 3 km of Laxmi Nagar metro sit inside 0.5 km of the station, which is 80 ÷ 132 = about 61%. Stretch to 1 km and you reach 111, or 111 ÷ 132 = about 84%. Supply here clusters tightly around one station.
These are straight-line distances from the station's map point to each listing's pin. The walk is longer, because the lanes off Vikas Marg bend and dead-end, so add a few minutes to anything the map suggests.
| Band (straight line from Laxmi Nagar metro) | Listings | Girls-only | Boys-only | Co-ed | Median Google rating (rated listings) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Within 0.5 km | 80 | 29 | 39 | 12 | 4.45 (80 rated) |
| Within 1 km | 111 | 46 | 49 | 16 | 4.5 (111 rated) |
| Within 2 km | 118 | 50 | 50 | 18 | 4.5 (118 rated) |
| Within 3 km | 132 | 59 | 54 | 19 | 4.4 (132 rated) |
One pattern matters for women aspirants. Right next to the station, boys-only listings lead 39 to 29. Between 0.5 km and 1 km the picture flips: 46 - 29 = 17 more girls-only listings appear, against only 49 - 39 = 10 more boys-only ones. So a girls PG in Laxmi Nagar is more likely a 10 to 15 minute walk from the station than a 3 minute one. Nirman Vihar station, the next stop towards Vaishali, is about 1.1 km east in a straight line, so listings in that outer ring can use either station.
Laxmi Nagar or Shakarpur: which side suits girls and CA students?
Both sit in the 110092 pincode on either side of Vikas Marg, and their listings overlap in our data. Laxmi Nagar has more girls-only stock: 41 of 90 address matches, about 46%. Shakarpur leans male, with 28 boys-only of 56, but rates slightly higher, with a median Google rating of 4.55 (October 2026).
We counted Hostel360 listings whose address text names each area, data checked October 2026. Many Shakarpur addresses also say Laxmi Nagar, so do not add the two rows together.
| Area / pincode | Listings | Girls-only | Boys-only | Co-ed | Median Google rating (rated listings) | Rated 4.0 or higher |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Laxmi Nagar / 110092 (89 of 90) | 90 | 41 | 36 | 13 | 4.5 (90 rated) | 71 (about 79%) |
| Shakarpur / 110092 (all 56) | 56 | 23 | 28 | 5 | 4.55 (56 rated) | 45 (about 80%) |
One of the 90 Laxmi Nagar matches carries a 110006 Old Delhi pincode, which is a reminder to check the pincode on any listing before you travel to see it. Within Shakarpur, the block name that appears most often in our listing addresses is Veer Savarkar Block, followed by School Block. On the Laxmi Nagar side, addresses most often name Lalita Park, Main Market, Guru Angad Nagar, Jagat Ram Park and the lanes around Vijay Chowk and Mangal Bazar.
For CA students, the lanes matter for a specific reason. The Northern India Regional Council of ICAI lists, on its NIRC contact page, a Laxmi Nagar Centre reading room at F-6-7 Vijay Chowk and a Lalita Park reading room at 2/82 Lalita Park, both in 110092, plus a Priyadarshini Vihar centre near Nirman Vihar metro. A room in Lalita Park or near Vijay Chowk puts those within a short walk. Students starting articleship should also read our CA articleship accommodation guide, because the office address, not the coaching lane, often decides where you should live.

How much does the metro from Laxmi Nagar to ITO and Rajiv Chowk cost?
Rs 21 to Rs 32 each way for most aspirant trips. DMRC's journey planner showed Rs 21 to Indraprastha, Mandi House and Karkarduma, and Rs 32 to ITO, Rajiv Chowk and Karol Bagh, on a weekday in October 2026. At six days a week, that is Rs 1,092 to Rs 1,664 a month.
We read each fare from the Delhi Metro journey planner for a Monday morning trip. The fares match the slabs on DMRC's fare page: Rs 21 for 2 to 5 km, Rs 32 for 5 to 12 km and Rs 43 for 12 to 21 km, Monday to Saturday. Sunday and national holiday fares are one slab lower, so the same Rajiv Chowk trip showed Rs 21 on a Sunday.
| From Laxmi Nagar to | Why an aspirant goes there | One-way fare (weekday) | Time in train | Monthly (x 2 x 26 days) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Indraprastha | Blue Line stop on the ITO side; NIRC's ICAI Bhawan office is on Indraprastha Marg | Rs 21 | About 6 min | Rs 1,092 |
| Karkarduma | ICAI Northern Region office in Vishwas Nagar, near Karkardooma Courts | Rs 21 | About 7 min | Rs 1,092 |
| Mandi House | Change point for the Violet Line | Rs 21 | About 10 min | Rs 1,092 |
| ITO | Offices around ITO; change at Mandi House | Rs 32 | About 16 min | Rs 1,664 |
| Rajiv Chowk | Connaught Place offices, if your articleship firm is there | Rs 32 | About 13 min | Rs 1,664 |
| Karol Bagh | Other side of the city on the same Blue Line | Rs 32 | About 20 min | Rs 1,664 |
| Lajpat Nagar | South Delhi offices; two changes | Rs 43 | About 32 min | Rs 2,236 |
The math uses 26 travel days because coaching and most articleship weeks run six days. Take Rajiv Chowk: Rs 32 x 2 x 26 = Rs 1,664. For Indraprastha it is Rs 21 x 2 x 26 = Rs 1,092. The gap is 1,664 - 1,092 = Rs 572 a month, or Rs 572 x 4 = Rs 2,288 across a four-month crash course. These are token fares; a card discount, if you use one, lowers them.
The address detail matters too. ICAI's regional council gives its headquarters as ICAI Bhawan, Indraprastha Marg, New Delhi 110002, and its own staff table labels that office "ITO". The Vishwas Nagar office is the other way, near Karkardooma Courts. Living in Laxmi Nagar keeps both within one Rs 21 metro ride.
When should you book a PG in Laxmi Nagar around CA and SSC exams?
Book after an exam cycle ends, not just before one starts. ICAI's January 2027 papers run from 2 to 12 January 2027, and the SSC CHSL Tier-I window closes on 31 December 2026. Candidates who finish those papers are free to move out, so mid-January suits anyone aiming at the next attempt.
The ICAI exam announcement dated 23 September 2026 (ICAI announcement No. 13-CA (EXAM)/JANUARY/2027) fixes Intermediate Group I on 2, 4 and 6 January 2027 and Group II on 8, 10 and 12 January 2027, and Foundation on 3, 5, 7 and 9 January 2027. Exam forms open on 3 November 2026 and close on 16 November 2026 without a late fee. Delhi / New Delhi is listed as an exam city.
On the SSC side, the Commission's SSC notice of 12 September 2026 set CGL 2026 Tier-I from 30 September to 30 October 2026. A later SSC notice of 1 October 2026 lists JE Paper-I from 2 to 6 November, SI in Delhi Police and CAPF from 20 to 28 November, and CHSL Tier-I from 30 November to 31 December 2026.
What this means for a lease:
- Writing CA Inter in January 2027: from 12 October 2026 you have 19 + 30 + 31 + 2 = 82 days to Group I. Do not change rooms inside that window unless you must. If your current agreement ends in December, ask now for a month-to-month extension to 12 January.
- Starting a May attempt or a fresh batch: look from mid-January, after the last Foundation and Inter papers on 9 and 12 January. Visit during the 2 PM to 5 PM slot ICAI uses for papers, because that is when you will sit mocks in your room.
- SSC aspirants: the CGL Tier-I window ended on 30 October 2026, so November is a natural point to switch rooms before CHSL Tier-I starts on 30 November.
The accommodation guide for UPSC, SSC and CA aspirants explains how to rank rooms on safety and study conditions; the points below are only the Laxmi Nagar specifics.
What should you check before paying a Laxmi Nagar PG owner?
Check the floor, the exit and the agreement before the deposit. In the lanes off Vikas Marg, where buildings stand close together, a room above ground with a second way out matters more than an extra fan. Then match mess, curfew and power backup to your batch and mock-test hours.
- Agreement end date: ask for the term or notice period to fit your exam, for example an exit you can give after 12 January 2027 for CA Inter, and get it written in. Our PG rental agreement checklist lists the clauses.
- Deposit receipt: it should carry the full address with block name (Veer Savarkar Block, School Block, Lalita Park) and the 110092 pincode, matching the listing you saw.
- Police verification: ask whether the owner files tenant verification with Delhi Police for each resident and gives you a copy; our police verification guide shows what to expect.
- Basement and fire exits: refuse basement rooms or basement study halls in the lanes behind the Vikas Marg shops, and walk the stair to the roof to confirm a second exit is not locked.
- Power backup in study hours: ask whether backup runs fans and sockets, not just lights, between 2 PM and 5 PM, the slot your CA papers and mocks use.
- Metro-side noise: rooms facing Vikas Marg sit beside the raised Blue Line and the main road; for night revision, ask for a room on the lane side.
- Mess vs batch timing: if your batch ends late, check the dinner cut-off and whether the mess keeps a plate.
- Curfew vs reading room: if you plan to use the NIRC reading room at Vijay Chowk or Lalita Park, ask the PG's gate closing time and walk that route after dark before you pay.
