By pincode, 400028 holds 24 of the 36 listings, or 67%. That is the Dadar West and Shivaji Park belt, and the addresses keep naming the same few streets: Bhavani Shankar Road and the garage lane off it, Ranade Road, Gokhale Road, N C Kelkar Marg and Senapati Bapat Marg. Next comes 400014 with 7 listings, around Hindu Colony, Naigaon Cross Road, Tilak Road and Parsee Colony on the East side. The 400025 and 400013 listings (2 each) sit toward Prabhadevi, and one in 400016 is in Mahim West.
Dadar East is small but well reviewed: its 5 rated listings have a median of 55 Google reviews each, against 11 for Dadar West. With 6 listings and no girls-only option, keep a West side backup.

Is a PG in Dadar West a good option for girls?
It is the only part of Dadar with girls-only listings, but supply is thin. All 4 girls-only listings with Dadar in the address are on the West side, and only 1 sits within 1 km of the station. Within 2 km the count rises to 10, which is where most women students will find a room.
So a search for a PG in Dadar for female students works best as a 2 km search. That ring takes in Prabhadevi, Parel and Matunga East, all a short train or bus ride from Dadar. How much does the local train from Dadar cost each month?
Between Rs 100 and Rs 130 a month in second class on the Western line, if you buy a monthly season ticket. Dadar to Churchgate or Andheri costs Rs 130 and Dadar to Bandra, Lower Parel or Vile Parle Rs 100, per Western Railway's published fare table, checked October 2026.
The single fares come from Western Railway's suburban journey ticket fare table and the monthly figures from its season ticket fare table. Both are dated 8 June 2015. They still apply: the Ministry of Railways reported no change to suburban fares or season tickets in the July 2025 fare revision or the December 2025 revision (Press Information Bureau).
The comparison assumes a return trip on 26 days a month (a six-day week): fare x 2 x 26.

Over a 10-month stay, a Dadar to Churchgate season ticket costs Rs 130 x 10 = Rs 1,300, against Rs 520 x 10 = Rs 5,200 in single tickets.
For the Central line toward CSMT, we could not find a current Central Railway season ticket fare table on its official site, so we have not priced that trip. Check the fare at the booking window or in the railway's UTS app before you buy. When should CA students book a room in Dadar?
By the first week of November 2026 if you sit the January 2027 exams. ICAI's exam forms open on 3 November and close on 16 November 2026 without a late fee, and Mumbai is an exam city. Fix your address first, then choose Mumbai as your exam centre.
The ICAI exam announcement dated 23 September 2026 sets Intermediate Group I on 2, 4 and 6 January 2027, Group II on 8, 10 and 12 January, and Foundation on 3, 5, 7 and 9 January. With a Rs 600 late fee you can apply until 19 November, and a correction window from 20 to 22 November lets you change the exam city. Do not plan a move between 2 and 12 January.
For library access, the search term "pg near ICAI Dadar" usually means the reading room in Dadar East. A WIRC of ICAI student newsletter from July 2024 lists it in Hindu Colony on Lakhamsey Nappu Road, pincode 400014. That is the same pincode as 7 of our Dadar listings. The same page lists the WIRC library at ICAI Tower in Bandra (East), and the Dadar to Bandra season ticket is Rs 100. It gives no timings, so confirm hours first.

What should you check before paying for a Dadar PG?
Check the building and the paperwork, not just the room. Many Dadar PGs run inside flats in older housing societies near Bhavani Shankar Road, Ranade Road and Tilak Road. So the agreement, the society's attitude to paying guests and the escape route matter as much as the bed.
- Agreement: ask for a written leave and licence agreement in your name that states the deposit, notice period and any society charges passed on to you. Our guide to what to check in a PG rental agreement lists the clauses.
- Society permission: in a flat-based PG off Senapati Bapat Marg or Gokhale Road, ask whether the housing society knows paying guests live there. A society dispute can end your stay mid-term.
- Police verification: ask who files your tenant details with the local police station and when. See our police verification guide for PGs and hostels.
- Stairs and exits: in the older walk-up buildings of the 400028 lanes, count the floors, find the second way out and look for a working extinguisher on your landing.
- Monsoon check: visit after heavy rain if you can. See whether the lane holds water and whether the ground-floor rooms are dry.
- Power backup: ask whether the inverter runs fans and lights through an evening study block, not just the Wi-Fi router.
- Mess vs batch timing: if dinner closes before you get back from a late batch at Churchgate or a Bandra office, ask whether food can be kept aside.
- Curfew vs late trains: check that the gate time leaves room for a late local back to Dadar, and for evenings at the Dadar East reading room.
- Festival noise: Dadar lanes get busy during festivals. Ask whether the building faces a pandal site before you sign for the exam months.
