34 localities indexed across Bangalore.
Marathahalli sits at a key junction on the Outer Ring Road where it meets Old Airport Road, which keeps it one of Bengaluru's most accessible areas for IT workers. The Marathahalli bridge is a landmark (and a traffic bottleneck). Adarsh Palm Retreat and numerous apartment complexes surround the area.
Jayanagar is one of Bengaluru's oldest and most well-planned residential areas, known for its numbered blocks, Jayanagar 4th Block shopping complex and tree-lined streets. The area has a more settled, family-oriented character than the startup-heavy neighbourhoods to its east.
BTM Layout is a dense residential neighbourhood between Koramangala and Jayanagar, known for its inexpensive PGs and shared apartments. Silk Board junction (one of Bengaluru's busiest intersections) borders the area, with bus transport links to Electronic City and Whitefield.
Whitefield is Bengaluru's eastern tech hub, home to ITPL (International Tech Park), Brigade Tech Gardens, RMZ Ecoworld and offices of Google, SAP, Wipro and dozens of other IT companies. The Purple Line metro extension now connects Whitefield to the city centre.
Bellandur is on the Outer Ring Road between Marathahalli and Sarjapur Road, surrounded by major tech campuses including RMZ Ecoworld and Cessna Business Park. Bellandur Lake (despite its environmental challenges) is a geographic marker for the area.
Koramangala is Bengaluru's startup hub, divided into numbered blocks, each with a distinct character. Forum Mall on Hosur Road anchors the retail side, while the inner blocks are dense with startups, cafes and PG accommodations. Sony World Signal and Jyoti Nivas College are local landmarks.
Mahadevapura is the administrative zone covering much of east Bengaluru's IT corridor including ITPL, Whitefield and the Outer Ring Road. The area has mixed-use development, tech parks alongside residential layouts and retail hubs.
KR Puram is a north-east Bengaluru junction where the Old Madras Road meets the railway line. The KR Puram railway station provides transport links, and the area is a gateway to Whitefield and the eastern tech corridor.

What differs when you are looking specifically for women-only accommodation in Bangalore.
Advisory
A women-only hostel in Bangalore is not simply a hostel that happens to have female residents. The properties on this page are registered as girls hostels, which in practice means a resident warden, a gate that is staffed rather than latched, a visitor register, and floors that men, including delivery staff and maintenance workers, do not enter unaccompanied. Those are the things worth verifying on a visit, because they are what the label is meant to guarantee and what a mixed property will not have.
Rent across Bangalore sits at ₹6,000 – ₹15,499 a month, and women-only properties usually land in the upper half of that band. The premium is not arbitrary: staffed security, single and twin rooms rather than four- and six-bed dorms, and in-house meals all cost the operator money. If a girls hostel in Marathahalli, Jayanagar, BTM Layout and Whitefield is quoting well below the city floor, ask what has been removed. It's normally the warden, the food, or the room-sharing count.
We list 938 properties in Bangalore, Karnataka, and you can filter this page to women-only in one click. Contact goes straight to the operator; there is no brokerage and no agent between you.
Ask who is at the gate after 10pm and meet them if you can. Check that the CCTV screen is live rather than a dead monitor in the lobby, that the entry is biometric or key-card rather than a shared key, and that the warden lives on site. A hostel that cannot show you these in five minutes is unlikely to have them at 2am.
Most girls hostels in Bangalore run a curfew between 9pm and 10.30pm. What matters more than the hour is the exception policy: night shifts, exam season, a delayed train. Get the late-entry rule in writing before you pay the deposit, and ask whether it needs a parent's call each time.
Confirm where guests are received, whether parents and brothers may enter the room or only the common area, and the notice required for an overnight guest. Ask the same about maintenance and delivery staff — an otherwise strict property that lets a plumber up unaccompanied has a gap in the rule.
Deposits in Bangalore typically run one to two months' rent. Ask what is deducted at exit, how much notice ends the tenancy without forfeiting it, and whether electricity, wifi, laundry and meals are inside the quoted rent or billed on top. Get the number that lands in your account each month, not the headline rate.
If meals are included, ask the mess timings against your class or shift hours, whether there is a kitchen or kettle you may use outside them, and how the vegetarian and non-vegetarian split works. A hostel whose dinner closes before your commute ends is effectively charging you for a meal you will not eat.

Karnataka
Bengaluru is India's technology capital, home to hundreds of IT companies, startups and R&D centres concentrated in corridors like Whitefield, Electronic City, Manyata Tech Park and Outer Ring Road. The city also hosts major educational institutions including IISc, IIM Bangalore, Christ University and numerous engineering colleges. This combination of IT employment and student population makes Bengaluru one of India's largest PG and co-living markets, with lakhs of young professionals and students renting shared accommodation.
PG rents in Bengaluru vary significantly by closeness to tech corridors. Areas near Outer Ring Road, Whitefield and Koramangala are pricier; northern suburbs like Yelahanka and Thanisandra offer better value. Most PGs provide meals, and co-living brands have a strong presence. Traffic congestion is a defining constraint, a 5-kilometre commute can take 45 minutes during peak hours. Choosing an area close to your office or along the metro line is more important in Bengaluru than in most Indian cities.

Common questions
Women-only hostels in Bangalore generally sit in the upper half of the city's ₹6,000 – ₹15,499 band, because the label normally brings a resident warden, staffed entry and lower room-sharing counts. Single rooms with meals sit near the top; twin and triple sharing without food sit near the floor.
Marathahalli, Jayanagar, BTM Layout and Whitefield carry the most women-only inventory in Bangalore, largely because they sit near the colleges and offices residents commute to. Judge a locality by your own route and how well lit the last 500 metres are after dark, not by its reputation alone.
Most do, usually between 9pm and 10.30pm. The policy that matters is the exception — night shifts, exams, delayed travel — so ask for the late-entry rule in writing before paying the deposit.
Registered women-only properties restrict men to the reception or a designated visitors' area, with a register at the gate. Ask specifically about parents, brothers, and maintenance or delivery staff, since that is where policies differ most between properties.
IT professionals gravitate toward the Outer Ring Road corridor — Marathahalli, Bellandur, Sarjapur Road, and HSR Layout for proximity to tech parks like Ecospace, Cessna Business Park, and RMZ Ecoworld. Whitefield and Electronic City suit those working at ITPL, Infosys, or Wipro campuses. Manyata Tech Park employees prefer Hebbal, Thanisandra, and Hennur.
Christ University students cluster in Koramangala (1st Block, 5th Block) and Dairy Circle. Ramaiah and IISc students stay in Malleshwaram and Mathikere. PES University students look at Banashankari and Jayanagar. RVCE students prefer Kengeri and Mysore Road. Budget-conscious students find the best rates in BTM Layout, Basavanagudi, and Banashankari.
The Purple Line runs from Whitefield to Challaghatta via KR Puram, Indiranagar, MG Road, Majestic, and Mysore Road. The Green Line runs from Nagasandra to Silk Institute via Yeshwanthpur, Majestic, Jayanagar, and Banashankari. Majestic is the interchange station. Living near a metro station cuts commute times by 30–60 minutes compared to road travel during peak hours.
Bangalore is considered one of India's safer metros for women. Women-only PGs with CCTV, biometric entry, warden supervision, and visitor restrictions are widely available in Jayanagar, Indiranagar, Koramangala, and Malleshwaram. Areas near Namma Metro stations offer well-lit commutes. Most managed co-living spaces have dedicated women's floors with separate entry access.
