Karvenagar is a quiet, tree-lined residential pocket wedged between Kothrud and Warje, and it functions largely as a student neighbourhood. MMCOE (Marathwada Mitra Mandal's College of Engineering) is in Karvenagar itself, with the MIT campuses and Bharati Vidyapeeth a short ride away along Karve Road. That road is the area's spine — it runs straight into central Pune in one direction and towards Warje and the Mumbai–Bangalore highway in the other.
